This is a walk-through of a fully filled-in estimate using sample data. It shows every screen of the Estimates module — the list, the 3-level Detailed editor, and the Library — so you can see how a complete estimate is built. Nothing here is live: it is a static example.

Detailed editor — 3 levels
The heart of the module. Build the estimate left-to-right: rooms (Level 1) → items in a room (Level 2) → the calculation sheet for one item (Level 3). Margins and the live total sit at Level 1.

Tip: on a wide screen all three columns show side by side; on narrow screens the row scrolls sideways.
1Rooms / sections — each room (Kitchen, Utility…) groups its own items. Click a room to open it in Level 2.
2Direct cost — the sum of every item across all rooms (materials + labour + consumables).
3Overhead, Profit & VAT — margins applied once to the whole estimate. VAT can be 20% / 5% / 0% / custom / none.
4Live TOTAL — recalculates instantly as you edit anything.
5Items in a room — open any item to its calc sheet (Level 3), or…
6Manual line — a quick "qty × price" line, edited right here, no calc sheet needed.
7Materials — pull from your stock (price & unit auto-filled) or add a bespoke item by hand.
8Labour — hours × rate per task. Totals roll up automatically.
9Consumables — a fixed £ amount or a % of the item cost (screws, glue, finish…).
3
Library — reusable templates
Build an assembly once (materials + labour) and reuse it in any estimate via "From Library / Template" at Level 3. Templates are grouped by category.

1Grouped templates — organised by category & subcategory; sortable columns; counts of materials & labour per template.
2Template editor — define materials and labour once. When used in an estimate it fills the Level 3 calc sheet, still fully editable.

Output — PDF & branding
When the estimate is ready, "📄 PDF" produces the client document; "📄 PDF + costs" is the internal copy with full breakdown. The look (logo, accent colour, font, terms, footer) is set once in PDF Settings, and the Estimate example tab shows the live PDF with your branding on this same sample data.
